If you receive a message telling you that you do not have sufficient funds in your account to pay a direct debit bill, you have until 1 p.m. on the next business day to deposit money into your account.
The debit will be made automatically that evening, provided that there are sufficient funds to cover this bill and other outstanding payments. No time sequential order is followed for several outstanding debits.
Remember that, after this period, the bill cannot be retrieved and you will need to contact the issuer to arrange payment.
