If you have received a message indicating that you have a bill pending direct debit due to insufficient funds in your account, you have until 1pm on the next working day to make the payment into your account. Once the payment has been made, the charge will be made automatically during that afternoon (so you will not see it show up immediately), as long as there are sufficient funds to meet this bill and the rest of the pending payments. If there are several pending charges from different dates, they will not be debited on a first in first out basis.
Remember that after this period the receipt cannot be retrieved and you will need to contact the issuer to arrange payment.
